Interior
To repaint walls or ceiling we typically hand roll everything. Meaning we don’t use a sprayer to get the paint applied. Unless it is new construction or the home is vacant. We end up going with whatever option is best for your budget.
Process:
Move all furniture a safe distance from the wall.
Mask off everything that is not to be painted.
Apply primer. (if needed)
If its an accent wall or a two tone ceiling and wall then we make a cut line with a high end brush outlining whatever area is getting painted first.
Roll all desired walls with desired paint color.
Take off masking and clean up.
Repeat process with second color walls or ceiling the next day.
Interior Trim
Trim painting is more meticulous job that requires high attention to detail and high end durable paint. All our trim jobs are sprayed with an airless sprayer, and we use only durable product unless the home owner wants a cheaper product. If the home is occupied during the trim paint job then we work through the house in sections isolating each section from the home owners so no dust or chemicals spread throughout the home.
Process:
Mask off/Isolate the section of the home that is to be painted.
Putty all holes, gouges, and imperfections in the trim.
Sand all putty and rough areas on trim.
Repeat steps 2 &3.
Caulk all seams including trim to wall, and trim to window vinyl, but excluding trim to floor unless specified.
Mask off all walls, floors, cabinets, furniture, and other things that are not meant to have paint on them, isolating the trim.
Spray primer (if needed)
Spray first coat of paint.
Double check for imperfections and fix imperfections.
Spray second coat of paint.
Leave to dry for about 2 hours, and take off masking.
Clean up.
Cabinets
Cabinet repainting is also a very high attention to detail demanding process. We isolate the kitchen space from the rest of the home with a plastic wall so no dust or chemicals spread, with a ventilation system that exits to the exterior.
Carefully remove all cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware (hinges, knobs, handles).
Label each part to ensure everything is reinstalled in the correct place.
Mask off all areas that re not to be painted isolating the cabinets.
Thoroughly clean cabinets with a degreasing cleaner to remove dirt, grease, and residue.
Rinse with water to ensure no cleaner remains, and allow surfaces to dry completely.
Lightly sand all cabinet surfaces, doors, and drawers to create a smooth and adherent base for primer and paint. Clean off all dust afterward.
Fill any cracks, holes, or dents with wood filler and sand smooth once dry.
Inspect for additional imperfections and repeat if necessary to achieve a flawless surface.
Apply a high-quality bonding primer with an airless sprayer to ensure strong adhesion and lasting durability.
Once the primer is dry, sand lightly with 220 grit sandpaper to remove any brush marks or raised grain. Clean off any dust with a tack cloth.
Apply first coat of paint and leave to dry. Then apply second coat for a smooth finish.
Check for any missed spots, streaks, or uneven areas, and perform touch-ups as needed.
Take off masking and clean up.
Reinstall the doors, drawers, and hardware, and ensure everything is aligned and functions smoothly.
Clean up any remaining dust or debris, and inspect the completed cabinets for quality.
